ICAP (Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People) welcome meeting on US Cuban relations
Film review with Gloria Rolando, award winning Afro-Cuban filmmaker whose themes address culture, race, and Afro-Cuban identity

Day Six
Workshop: Visit to the Cuban National Literacy Museum to learn about the role of women in the1960s campaign to educate the new Revolutionary Cuba
Visit to artist Jorge Almagro’s home and studio
Lunch in Old Havana
Free time at the San Jose Craft Market for shopping and/or to
explore Old Havana on your own
Dinner at the famed San Cristobal restaurant, one of a few Afro Cuban owned restaurants in Havana

Workshop: The Cuban health care system. We will meet with doctors and visit a community clinic and learn about Cuba’s medical system including the education of African and Latin American students at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM)
Workshop: The Cuban Federation of Women to learn about this historic and important organization in Cuba
Day Eight
Travelers return to Miami for connecting flights
